After 10,000 posters were distributed in 1928, it appeared that the run- ner in the image was a ‘pacer’ and therefore the entire run had to be quickly destroyed. Accordingly, this has now become one of the rarest Olympic posters and this beautiful specimen managed to keep out of the hands of the destroy- ers, because it was consigned from abroad.
