From the offensive advertisements for soap for example, (lotnr. 506), to the fun and sometimes demeaning designs for candy, to the veritable designs of indigenous people produced by Ottomar Anton for African Cruise Lines, (lotnr. 508). These designs are a good insight into the zeitgeist of the perception of race and color. The selected lots here serve as an overview of this design history.
