Olbrich was an Austrian architect and co-founder of the Vienna Secession in 1897 together with G. Klimt, J. Hoffmann and K. Moser. Olbrich designed their exhibition building The Secession Hall in Darmstadt. The building on this poster is the Ernst Ludwig House, also designed by Olbrich and construction began in 1901.
